The Hardest Part of Creating KADORE? Waiting.
When I first had the idea for KADORE Pet Luggage, I could already see it.
I could picture the luggage. I could imagine a pet parent packing it for a weekend getaway. I could see it rolling through an airport next to their own suitcase.
What I didn't picture was all the waiting.
Creating something that doesn't quite exist the way you imagine it takes patience — a lot of it.
An Idea Is the Easy Part
You have an idea, get excited, and immediately want to see it come to life.
Then reality sets in.
There are measurements to reconsider. Materials to choose. Colors that look completely different in a photograph than they do in your imagination. Logos that need to be positioned just right. Zippers, wheels, lining, compartments and dozens of tiny details that suddenly feel very important.
And then you make a decision…
…and wait.
You receive an update, make another adjustment…
…and wait again.
I've learned that creating a product is a constant cycle of excitement, decisions, patience and anticipation.
Learning Not to Rush the Details
There have definitely been moments when I've thought, Can we just make it already?
But then I remind myself why KADORE started in the first place.
I don't want to create just another suitcase with a pet logo on it.
I want to create something that makes a pet parent smile the first time they see it.
Something that makes them think:
“My baby needs this.”
That feeling comes from the details.
So even when waiting is frustrating, I'm learning that sometimes another revision, another conversation or another week is worth it if it makes the final product better.
And Now… We Wait for the Real Thing
There's something surreal about spending so much time discussing a product you've imagined, sketched, revised and talked about endlessly — but haven't actually held in your hands yet.
That's where we are right now.
Waiting for the moment when KADORE goes from an idea and a collection of designs to something I can actually touch.
I already know what I'm going to do when it arrives.
I'm going to inspect everything. 😂
The wheels. The zippers. The lining. The compartments. The logo. The feel of the handle. How everything fits.
And yes, Kona will have to give her approval too. 🐾
Building Something Worth Waiting For
Of course I want KADORE available now.
I want to photograph it. Pack it. Roll it through an airport. Show all of you what we've been working on. And most of all, I want to see another pet parent packing one for their own best friend.
But I'm realizing that this waiting period is part of the KADORE story too.
Someday, when I see the first KADORE Pet Luggage rolling beside someone else's suitcase, I think I'll remember these days — obsessing over tiny details, checking for updates and wondering when I would finally get to hold the first one.
So for now, we keep creating.
We keep perfecting.
And we practice a little patience.
Because some things are worth getting right.
